Bugera Veyron M Bv1001m 2000w Bass Head Review

  1. I picked one of these up in a local trade subsequently hearing a wedding ring bassist employ i recently. His tone and presence were good, I asked what information technology was and the reply floored me.... "a Bugera".

To be honest, I've had a few pieces of Behringer gear. It's unremarkably functional and sounds decent. But the components and build quality seem flimsy. Only I have to sing this thing'due south praises.... the Veyron 1000 is the most robust, well made inexpensive piece of gear I've owned. It impresses the hell outta me!

Anybody have gig experience with it? Beloved information technology? Hate it?

  2. Well since you did inquire, I owned i for exactly 44 days and gigged with it many times in that time frame. I hated it. The build and aesthetics were actually dainty and it is definitely one loud sucker, but I found information technology likewise thin and defective in low stop for my tastes. Plus the compressor acted more than like a limiter to me than a compressor.

There will probably exist some who will come up on here and say that I am wrong and that is cool since nosotros are all different, but over again you asked "Love it? Hate it?" I hated it.

  3. I capeesh the honesty man! I'm not gigging right now then nothing is staked on using it at all. I desire to hear truth in instance an interesting gig does popular up.
  4. I'm firmly in the love it camp. I take the MOSFET version. I've had it for a fiddling over a year. Weekly loud rehearsing through a pair of Avatar 2x10 neos. Withal merely well-nigh a dozen gigs so far. 2 were outdoors though, provided plenty of clean power. I don't use onboard compressors however. I prefer an uncolored amp sound and this suits my needs. I've retired a Peavey T-Max, Hartke 3500 MOSFET, and SWR 550x considering of my love for this Veyron.

For what it's worth, I use fully active EMG equipped basses and prefer a modern, hi-fi, scooped slapper type sound.

  5. cheers GTM. my eq curve is usually in that shape, and I have an onboard pre that slays.
mine's the MOSFET too, and I allow soundmen control the compression out front. for me, comps are dynamics killers up close (as well close to my amp on a small stage).
  6. Keen minds remember alike! I tend to employ the bass heave push on the amp equally it seems to accept a natural boost to both the lows and a little bit of the highs creating a very usable scoop without completely ditching useful mids. I use a Dunlop MXR Bass Compressor as a superlative limiter but. The sound I try to achieve is that of a clean, howdy-fi PA system. Basically a studio monitor type of audio. I like to believe that the Veyron along with everything in my setup assistance me to attain that. My onboard active EQ and the Veyron EQ stay pretty apartment for the most role. Possibly just rolling off a little highs here and there.

Cheers Talkbass for teaching me things and convincing me to go on spending sprees to chase "the tone in my head" that I always seem to detect, notwithstanding I convince myself otherwise to justify more GAS!:roflmao: :hyper:

  7. Amen!
    Good thing GAS isn't fatal!

There is the Tube version and mosfet. I take the mosfet. IMO worth the toll of admission. Peeps are still listening with their eyes. Nothing incorrect with these heads.

Are Speakon cables required, or are the output jacks as well uniform with good one-time i/4" plugs?
  10. I've had mine for virtually 8 months. I love it. I started with the T, but had a footling tube difficulties early, so I got the Yard. No tubes = no tube problems. This head is dope. I judge people are most frowning on the claimed power rating than really listening to the amp. I read a few threads where the reps and agents are actually talking to people about the wattage of this amp. I guy emailed Music Group for the rms rating. He got sent back 500w @ 4ohm. I dont know man, that just doesn't make sense. I take a 600w rms @ 4ohm ampeg 610. It has a peak power of 1200w. I can't go half way up this head without run a risk of exploding my cabinet. EQ flat. Due west/o the ultra depression engaged. And, it'southward clean. Clean and clear every bit all hell. People are dumb. These things rock. Merely matter I wish, handle a 2ohm load. Everything else, perfect.

My Hartke 3500 is getting to be pretty old now. Thinking a Veyron M might be a practiced way to modernize and downsize without losing any of the clean headroom or punch.
    Old 3500 could become a fill-in caput.
  12. I actually sold my Hartke 3500 after using this amp for a little while now. The Veyron 1000 is a wonderful car. Clean, transparent power with enough of punch. I'm most definitely a believer.
  13. Transparent for sure. I don't really notice any major differences in tone compared to my DI box. Well, except when I starting time EQing it up.
  14. Thanks for the input everybody!
  15. Everybody says they're clean but doesn't the Proceeds knob assist bring out some harmonic richness? It'due south what I like virtually my Carvin BX1200, amid other things.
    Artman and Sanchan like this.
  16. I have merely ordered one of these and so I will permit you know in a week or two
  17. A few months agone I bought the MOSFET version from Sweetwater and accept to say I am impressed. The affair simply plainly rocks. The true test will exist to see how it endures travel and gigging. Doesn't injure one bit that it is easy to carry around.
